Bauer Commencement is May 16

More than 1,000 Bauer College Students to Graduate During Spring 2026 Commencement

Cue the graduation music.

The C. T. Bauer College of Business will recognize its largest ever graduating undergraduate class in two University of Houston commencement ceremonies on May 16

Overall, more than 1,400 Bauer students will walk the Fertitta Center stage, representing over 1,100 undergraduates, a 6-percent increase compared to last spring, along with nearly 300 graduate and doctoral candidates. As students transition into Bauer College alumni, Professor Thomas George, who manages the Cougar Investment Fund (CIF), spoke to transformative nature that earning a Bauer degree has on graduates' lives.

“The education available to students at Bauer is second to none,” George said. “Graduates of Bauer’s degree programs, including the CIF, often enter with no business background and leave with the self-confidence and skills to pursue and thrive in career paths that shape the future of finance and business in Houston and beyond.”

Throughout a student’s college years, the Rockwell Career Center (RCC) provides resources and guidance to ensure they reach professional greatness after graduation. RCC career coaches are with students as they craft their résumés, network at the Bauer Career Fair and celebrate signing their job offers.

RCC Executive Director Kelly Collins reflected on the evolution that students experience leading up to commencement.

“At the Rockwell Career Center, we don’t just see students graduate; we see them pivot,” Collins said. “A Bauer degree is a high-yield investment in career mobility. Whether it’s a first-generation student launching into a global firm or a seasoned executive navigating a high-level career shift, Bauer prepares students to command their own path.”

She added: “Our graduates leave with more than a credential. They leave with the business acumen and the professional network to thrive in a competitive market.”

To celebrate this class of graduates, the college will host two commencement ceremonies on May 16. Commencement I will include doctoral candidates, master’s students and accounting and finance undergraduates, and will start at 2 p.m. Commencement II will include entrepreneurship, management, management information systems, marketing and supply chain management undergraduates, and will start at 7 p.m.
