The Heart of Bauer
Bauer Ambassadors Start Their Terms at Induction Ceremony

Forty C. T. Bauer College of Business students were sworn in at this year’s Bauer Ambassadors Induction, an event celebrating the prestigious program of students who represent the college’s spirit and morals.
Within this year’s cohort, half are returning members, and the remaining 20 students are joining for the first time. The ambassadors serve as ethics advocates for Bauer College and represent Bauer at tours, events, orientations and more.
" We look for students with a great representation of student leadership, but also students who really want to serve and give back to Bauer College,” Associate Director of Student Engagement Jorge Arellano (BBA ‘14, M.Ed. ‘25) said. “Bauer Ambassadors have great experiences throughout the industry and want to pay it forward to the next Bauer student.”

Leading the Bauer Ambassadors is a team of officers, including President Emily Agruso. She has served the organization for three years, including two years of officer experience.
" Being an ethics advocate is about what values you hold and the morals that you show in your everyday life,” Agruso said. “It's about showing up and showing out. It's about doing the right thing when nobody's looking and holding yourself to your highest standard.”

Returning Bauer Ambassador Elizabeth Smith said she looks forward to helping prospective students navigate their choice on whether to attend Bauer. As an out-of-state student, Smith had a full-circle experience while assisting students last year.
“There was an out-of-state student from Minnesota who said he came here for the Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship,” Smith said. “As someone who's from Chicago who also came here for the Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship, I got to give him a tour of the Wolff Center and introduce him to the director directly. That was the best experience for me because I got to help him, which I would have wanted if I was also in his position.”

Marissa Coveler was inducted as a Bauer Ambassador for the first time this year but has previously been involved with other business organizations. She was drawn to the organization after being inspired by her friends in the program.
After getting inducted, Coveler said she’s grateful to give back and represent Bauer.
" Bauer is a great business school because it tries to give students opportunities beyond learning in class by letting them apply the lessons that they learned,” Colver said. “The college really does want its students to succeed, so it gives them many opportunities to get internships and network.”
