Bauer College Senior Alex Lammayot Lands on Poets&Quants 100 Best & Brightest List

Accounting and management information systems senior Alex Lammayot’s days are planned down to the minute.

The productivity powerhouse has positively supported several C. T. Bauer College of Business organizations and initiatives throughout the years, with his high-level achievements landing him on the Poets&Quants 100 Best & Brightest Undergraduate Business Majors of 2026 list.

Lammayot said he thrives under a packed itinerary and has juggled his academic commitments with being a Bauer Ambassador, an Emerging Leaders Academic Success Program (ELASP) peer leader, a professional cello player and an entrepreneur of two music businesses.

“I always have something that I want to accomplish,” Lammayot said. “I'm always working toward a certain goal. That's just who I am as a person. It could be helping students or improving myself.”

Serving others has been a large point of fulfillment for Lammayot, who is often the first to offer a helping hand. He said his favorite experience at Bauer College has been finding purpose through ELASP.

“My personal mission in ELASP wasn’t the betterment of myself, but I felt more motivated in my life when I was able to help others,” he said. “I'm also active on the University of Houston Reddit and answer a lot of student questions there.”

After years of early morning commutes and packed academic schedules, Lammayot said he understands just how hectic college life can be, but he still encourages new business students to take advantage of the opportunities around them.
