Bauer Faculty and Staff Share Summer Adventures
Summer is a great time to rest, reset and go on adventures. In addition to serving students taking classes in June and July, faculty and staff at the C. T. Bauer College of Business made the most of the time by traveling, accomplishing personal and professional goals, and spending quality time with friends and family.
Here, we highlight the summer adventures shared by a few Bauer faculty and staff.
ERIN REED
Associate Director, Graduate Career Services
“I went on vacation to Phoenix and Sedona Arizona this summer. One of the photos is me before my hot air balloon ride, and the others are me in front of the HUGE red rocks indicative of the Sedona area.”
CARLA BATTLES

“I started my summer by pledging a non-collegiate sorority, Delta Psi Rho Sorority, Incorporated.”
JOHN LOPEZ

“I took a Trans-Atlantic cruise from Galveston to Athens, Greece. It was 26 days of living on a cruise ship with many ports of call along the way. Highly recommended way to see the world!”
COLLEEN DAVIES

Advisor, Bauer Honors
“My family and I went to Barcelona and Northern Italy this summer. We did a family reunion with my side of the family in Barcelona (17 of us in total!).
Then just Team Davies went to Northern Italy to explore Lake Como, Lake Garda and Venice. This was our first European adventure, and it was amazing. We loved the beautiful scenery, the architecture and history of each place, and the food. Oh my, did we enjoy the food & gelato.”
SMALL BUSINESS
DEVELOPMENT CENTER STAFF
“This summer, the UH Texas Gulf Coast Small Business Development Center network hosted a staff engagement event organized by one of our staff Business Advisors, LeeVera Smith, and Nothing But Bling Events. Attendees tapped into their creative skills and learned how to paint a beach dreamscape!”
AMANDA SEBESTA
Director, Office of Communications
“This summer, I took my first-ever cruise. I sailed out of Seattle with a group of friends, and we went to Alaska and Canada. Every view was breathtaking. The air was crisp and clean, and definitely a great break from the Texas heat!”
JAMIE BELINNE

“This summer I hiked up Machu Picchu in Peru. It was about 2,000 feet of climbing for around seven miles. I highly recommend!”
