Resource Wrap Up

From their first day on campus to graduation, students at the C. T. Bauer College of Business have access to a comprehensive network of resources designed to foster academic achievement, career readiness and meaningful connections, reflecting the college's commitment to student success.

To help students make the most of these opportunities, we've compiled a guide to the Bauer programs, services and campus partners dedicated to supporting their success.

Academic Advising

Dedicated teams of academic advisers in both Undergraduate Business Programs and Graduate & Professional Programs help students navigate their degree paths.

While students are encouraged to meet with their adviser prior to course selection each semester, advisers are available through appointments year-round.

Undergraduate advisers can provide guidance related to major declarations, transfer credits and graduation progress. Graduate advisers specialize in supporting MBA and MS students with issues including course enrollment as well as specific academic needs.

Advising appointments are available online and in person. Answers to frequently asked undergraduate and graduate advising questions are available online.

The HUB for Student Success

Students can grow their professional and personal skills by engaging with programs, organizations and initiatives hosted by The HUB for Student Success, a unit within Undergraduate Business Programs.

Through The HUB, Bauer undergraduates can connect with dozens of student organizations that focus on different business disciplines, cultures and more. Programs like the Emerging Leaders Academic Success Program, Ted Bauer Leadership Certificate Program and Ted Bauer Undergraduate Business Scholars offer reoccurring programming that build skills and community with students throughout an academic semester or school year.

Annually, The HUB hosts Bauer Leadership Night, which broadens student networks and expertise with a smaller time commitment.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

As a part of the University of Houston community, all Bauer students have access to UH Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS).

Within the college, Bauer has its own embedded CAPS counselor, Kia Batiste, who is located in Melcher Hall (Room 305).

Batiste is available for drop-in hours with all Bauer students on Mondays from 2-5 p.m. Students can email Batiste directly to schedule an hour-long appointment if needed.

Rockwell Career Center

Bauer students also have access to dedicated, on-campus career coaching, job search support and networking services through the Rockwell Career Center, housed in Cemo Hall.

Undergraduate and graduate students can schedule one-on-one sessions with RCC coaches online, with staff specializing in different majors and professional programs.

Each semester, RCC has several career-focused events to introduce students to recruiters and increase professional development opportunities. This fall, the career center will host its Bauer Career Launch, Résumé Kickoff and Business Career Fair.

Additionally, RCC has a free rental Suit Closet for students, case competitions and several other services. Students can learn more about RCC here.

Scholarships

Bauer students only need to complete one application to apply for any of the college’s undergraduate, graduate and international scholarships that they are eligible for.

The 2026-2027 Scholarship Application will remain open until Feb. 1, 2027. After completing the required information, students will be considered for all of the available scholarships that they are eligible for.

UH Extend

Bauer is one of several University of Houston colleges to offer 100 percent online degree programs through UH Extend.

Bauer has six Online BBA majors for students to choose from, with options for synchronous or asynchronous courses. Students in the Online BBA can still access virtual advising and career resources. (See Online BBA FAQs.)

Bauer also offers 10 online graduate degree programs, including a MBA and nine Master of Science programs. These programs are designed to be completely online, and don’t require students to attend in-person obligations. Online graduate students can still meet with academic advisers and faculty virtually.

Cougar Cupboard

Conveniently located next to Melcher Hall in University Lofts, the Cougar Cupboard is an on-campus food pantry available to all University of Houston students.

Designed like a traditional grocery store, students can receive up to 30 pounds of food from the Cougar Cupboard each week.

During the Fall 2026, the Cougar Cupboard is open on Tuesdays from 2-6 p.m. by appointment only. Additionally, they are open from 2-6 p.m. on Wednesdays, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Fridays and 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month.
