Marketing & Entrepreneurship Faculty Research Ranks No. 23
In a city shaped by industry, the C. T. Bauer College of Business Department of Marketing & Entrepreneurship is producing research that keeps pace, with a No. 23 ranking in the 2026 UT Dallas Top 100 Business School Research Rankings.
The department is known for its signature experiential learning-based programs, including the No. 1 ranked Cyvia and Melvyn Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship and Stephen Stagner Sales Excellence Institute, while also prioritizing high-quality research.
In the department, all tenure-track faculty publish research in top journals. Bauer College also leads globally in sales research, Department of Marketing & Entrepreneurship Chair Ed Blair said. Faculty and doctoral alumni have received recognition by the American Marketing Association for their contributions to the sales discipline 10 times in the past 11 years.
“We have responded to our Houston economy and built out the world's top sales program in terms of education,” he said. “We talk to companies and learn what their problems are. We see opportunities to answer questions for them, and that leads to cutting-edge research.”
As faculty publish top research, Blair said Bauer students benefit greatly.
“We're not taking what somebody else told us and passing that along in our classes,” Blair said. “We are generating cutting-edge knowledge that faculty around the world will teach in their classes. It tells our students that we're part of the conversation at the very highest level. We are thought leaders.”
