Ready, Set, Résumé!
Get Career Ready: Rework Your Résumé
with Rockwell Career Center

With the Fall 2025 semester gearing up, career coaches at Bauer College’s Rockwell Career Center are reminding students to get their résumés ready!
Building a résumé that is engaging to employers can sometimes be challenging. That’s why RCC offers resources to help undergraduate and graduate students create a résumé that showcases their most relevant skills.
Through the Bauer Résumé format, students can download a template designed to match what employers are looking for, simply personalizing with their own experience and skills.
The staff at RCC are dedicated to preparing Bauer students for the start of their careers. And they have a few pieces of advice for students to keep in mind.
Prepare and Have a Plan
Megan Bauml
Assistant Director
Undergraduate and Career Services
"Attend career events, network and do research before meeting with recruiters.
Find out more about who you’re interested in talking to and how you can sell yourself to them. Think about what you want an employer to know before you walk into an event. Having your résumé ready goes along with that.
Think about all that you’ve done and how you can showcase yourself through that résumé."
Details Matter
Amanda Wysinger
Assistant Director
Alumni Coaching and Career Center Operations
"Don’t be afraid to quantify. Students may have trained three to four people, or they’ve increased something by 10 percent, but they’re scared to include things like that on their résumé. Those small details are things that recruiters look for. It’s okay if you don’t have an exact number, you can ballpark it, just so long as it’s included.”
Get Help Early
Erin Reed
Associate Director
Graduate Career Counseling
“Students think they know how to engage in an effective job search. They assume all they need to do is make a few updates to their résumé, and they’re good to start applying. Really there are a lot more moving pieces to what makes a good job search.
A résumé is important, but so is networking. A lot of students underestimate the power of LinkedIn. I want students to know, don’t wait until the end of your program to find a job when some employers are hiring six months to a year in advance. Seek help early.”

Through the college’s dedicated career center, Bauer students have a myriad of resources as they work to prepare and get their résumés ready.
“I would say the most valuable thing is making a one-on-one appointment with a career counselor,” Bauml said. “It’s a good time to go over your résumé, and if you’re between two majors, they can help you decide.”
They also have drop-in appointments available Monday through Thursday for a quick 15-minute chat with a career counselor.
If students are looking for ways to get ahead this semester, they are encouraged to make a one-on-one appointment with an RCC career counselor.
