Bauer Students Recognized on Poets&Quants 2025 Best & Brightest List

Two undergraduate students from the C. T. Bauer College of Business have been named among the nation's best on the 2025 Best & Brightest Business Majors list by Poets&Quants. 

The list includes management information systems senior Daniel Kalathoor as well as finance and supply chain management senior Glenys Yevi, both recognized for their academic achievements and extracurricular activities. 

DANIEL KALATHOOR
MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS SENIOR

Daniel Kalathoor is a senior in the Bauer Business Honors Program, majoring in management information systems with an Honors minor in phronesis, an interdisciplinary program focused on politics, history and ethics. Originally from Missouri City, Texas, Kalathoor became interested in information technology through volunteer work on the tech team at his church.  

During his time at Bauer, he has held multiple leadership positions in the Management Information Systems Student Organization (MISSO), serving as a two-time officer. He also served on the Bauer Honors Student Advisory Board and completed the Ted Bauer Leadership Certification Program. His campus involvement has been recognized with the 2023–24 Bauer Leadership Excellence Award and the 2024–25 Ted Bauer Leadership Excellence Award. 

Professionally, Kalathoor completed internships at Apache Corporation as an IT analyst intern and at BMC Software in IT assurance. He also studied abroad in Greece during the spring 2024 semester. 

After graduation, Kalathoor will return to Apache Corporation as a full-time IT analyst. He plans to pursue graduate studies, with an interest in either law school or an MBA program. 

GLENYS YEVI
FINANCE AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT SENIOR

Glenys Yevi is a senior at the C. T. Bauer College of Business, double majoring in finance and supply chain management. With a multinational background spanning eight countries, she brings a global perspective to her studies and professional interests. 

Yevi completed the International Baccalaureate program at Redhill High School in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she received the International Baccalaureate Award for exemplifying a global mindset. She chose Bauer for its focus on experiential learning and diversity and has been active in several student organizations throughout her undergraduate career. 

She served as president and former vice president of the National Association of Black Accountants at UH, where she helped revitalize the organization and build a partnership with the Forté Foundation to expand access for women in business. She also served as director of recruiting for the Business Consulting Organization and was a Bauer Ambassador

Her academic achievements include being named a Deloitte Summer Bridge Scholar, earning five Dean’s List recognitions, and winning both the 2023 KPMG Ideation Challenge and the Coogs for Energy Hackathon. She is a member of honor societies including Omicron Delta Kappa, Golden Key International Honour Society, and Phi Kappa Phi. 

In summer 2024, Yevi was selected as one of five students worldwide for the KPMG International Consulting Internship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This summer, she will intern with Wells Fargo as a corporate banking intern in the Houston office, where she hopes to launch her full-time career following graduation.
