Faculty Research Ranking Best in a Decade
Bauer College Faculty Research Ranks No. 48 in North America
Faculty from the C. T. Bauer College of Business have achieved the college's highest research ranking in a decade.
According to the 2026 UT Dallas Top 100 Business School Research Rankings, Bauer College faculty are No. 48 in North America. The list analyzes scholarly research productivity over a five-year period, from 2021 to 2025.
“I’m very proud of our research faculty. Top 50 is a great recognition of our overall excellence on topics relevant to business education.”
Xianjun Geng, Bauer College Dean
In addition to the overall college ranking, two Bauer programs are prominently featured, with marketing and entrepreneurship faculty at No. 23 and management information systems faculty at No. 18.
The ranking is determined by tracking faculty publications in 24 leading peer-reviewed journals across various business disciplines.
Within the field of marketing, Bauer faculty lead the world in research related to selling and sales management, Department of Marketing & Entrepreneurship Chair Ed Blair said. The college sales faculty's deep connection to industry enables research that is relevant as well as cutting-edge and makes the Stagner Sales Excellence Institute the world's top academic sales center, he added.
Bauer College also ranks highly in information systems research, which Department of Decision & Information Sciences (DISC) Chair Meng Li says is thanks to DISC faculty, and their research on artificial intelligence makes the difference.
“We are leading the MIS field, especially in the field of artificial intelligence, and we are going to get even better in the future,” Li said. “I strongly believe in the momentum of the department.”
There are different ways to measure the strength and caliber of a business school, but the UTD Ranking is objective in its design in that it focuses on publications within a set of widely recognized top business journals, Bauer Dean Xianjun Geng said.
“I’m very proud of our research faculty,” Geng said. “Top 50 is a great recognition of our overall excellence on topics relevant to business education.”
