Bauer College Honors Fall 2025 Graduates at Commencement

More than 1,000 students from the C. T. Bauer College of Business walked the Fertitta Center stage as they turned their tassels and became University of Houston alumni.

The 1,057 Bauer College graduates studied a variety of business disciplines and came from all walks of life. Across all the university’s Fall 2025 graduates, Bauer’s Commencement ceremony included the youngest graduate at 19-years-old and the oldest graduate at 65-years-old.

During his words of encouragement to all graduates, Bauer Dean Xianjun Geng reminded the crowd of their endless potential and the strong alumni community that they join.

“As you pursue this lifelong learning, know that your Bauer family is always here for you,” Geng said. “We want to hear your big ideas, we love to cheer for your future accomplishments, and we are always a source to support you. Your success is Bauer’s success.”

University of Houston System Chancellor and President Renu Khator congratulated graduates for overcoming hardships and obstacles along the way. As alumni embark on their next adventure, Khator told them to make the most of every opportunity.

“If life gets a little tough, and it will sometimes, just remember one of my favorite mantras— when life gives you lemons and everyone else is making lemonade, you make margaritas,” Khator said.

Senior Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs Tom George thanked all Bauer faculty who taught the graduating students, including those no longer with us. Bauer Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Business Programs Olivia Miljanic recognized students who graduated with honors, and those who have served in the military.

“Graduation is a time for family and friends to share in the honor of the graduates, for they too, have contributed their encouragement, counsel, love and support to achieve this important end,” Miljanic said. “For some families, such graduation exercises are a first time ever event; for others, it continues a family tradition over one or more generations... Thank you, we really appreciate your support and efforts.”

The ceremony included a special recognition for former University of Houston Board of Regents Chairman and U.S. Ambassador to Italy and San Marino Tilman J. Fertitta, who received an honorary doctorate degree for his philanthropy and support of the university.

As the Alma Mater concluded the Commencement ceremony, graduates rejoiced with their friends and families, ushering in their next chapter as Bauer alumni.

“True we’ll ever be.”
