Jamie Belinne, Associate Dean for Career and Industry Engagement at the C. T. Bauer College of Business, is serving as a Fulbright Specialist at the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business (WUEB) in Poland this fall.
The Fulbright Specialist program is run by the U.S. Department of State and aims to establish educational partnerships around the world and extend knowledge in a variety of disciplines.
Fulbright Specialists are selected on the basis of academic and professional achievement, demonstrated leadership in their field, and their potential to foster long-term cooperation between institutions in the U.S. and abroad.
Belinne’s month-long project at WUEB will utilize her valuable expertise as an innovator in career services and experiential learning.
She helped establish and oversees Bauer’s Office of Experiential Learning, which opened in 2019. Another noteworthy accomplishment has been overseeing a tremendous increase in the college's undergraduate career placement rate, from less than 40 percent in 2005 to its current rate of more than 90 percent.
Fulfilling the Fulbright assignment is a longtime professional goal, Belinne said.
“Most universities recognize that a professional career center is important for its students, but these units are often under-resourced and given limited support,” Belinne said. “As a Fulbright Specialist, I can take best practices across borders.”
Belinne has earned several awards, including the National Association of Colleges and Employers Professional Change Maker Award and the MBA Career Services and Employers Alliance Lifetime Service Award.
She has also been an invited speaker on MBA career services and outcomes, reporting to industry conferences in six countries.
She completed her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at Texas Tech University in May 2023. Her research focus is on the longitudinal impact of specific, experiential, curricular interventions on the perspectives and behaviors of MBA alumni and business leaders.
