An Upward Trend

U.S. News & World Report Ranks Bauer Online Graduate Programs in Top 50 Among Publics

For the first time, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Bauer College graduate programs among the Top 50 among public programs in the nation in its annual Best Online Master's in Business Programs list, released Tuesday.

Online MS programs at Bauer have shown tremendous enrollment growth in recent years, and the ascent to No. 46 among public schools in the 2025 U.S. News  national rankings is yet another indication of their excellence, said Associate Dean of Graduate and Professional Programs Leiser Silva.

“The continued upward trend in the ranking of our online programs is a sure sign of strength,” Silva said. “Our faculty and staff are constantly working to update and improve curriculum and we’re very proud of this national recognition.”

Bauer’s online programs utilize the same faculty and curriculum as in-person degree programs.

Because graduate students who enroll in online programs are inherently busy, frequently juggling professional and family responsibilities, the Bauer programs’ reliability, affordability and flexibility are a key to their success, Silva said.

While some universities use a third-party organization to facilitate the delivery of online classes, Bauer created an in-house Office of Digital Learning to ensure online educational technology operates as seamlessly as possible, Silva said.

Two of the most popular online MS programs at Bauer are Accountancy (STEM) and Management & Leadership specialty degrees. Interest and enrollment in online MBA degrees has soared since being offered at Bauer College in 2021.

The U.S. News rankings assess faculty credentials, innovative use of technology, strategies to spark student engagement and other factors.
