Recognize Outstanding Fall 2023 Graduates

Each semester, the Office of Graduate and Professional Programs at the C. T. Bauer College of Business selects graduates from each program to recognize as outstanding students.

The Fall 2023 list includes recognition for students in the Master of Science in Business Analytics, MS in Management Information Systems, MS in Supply Chain Management, MS in Entrepreneurship, MS in Finance, MS in Management & Leadership, MS in Marketing, MS in Accountancy, MS in Global Energy Leadership, MS in Sales Leadership and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs.

ZOYA HUSSAIN
Outstanding MS in Accountancy Student

Zoya Hussain is a Master of Science in Accountancy student specializing in the area of Tax Compliance and Consulting. She embarked on her accounting journey at the University of Houston in the Fall of 2018 with the start of her undergraduate degree and continued her love for accounting through entering the graduate program in Summer of 2022. 

Throughout her tenure at Bauer, Hussain has had the chance to gain exposure to a wide variety of experiences. She has acquired a well-rounded education in accounting ranging from multiple courses in the various areas of tax to modern-day data analytics. Her commitment extends beyond studies, as she has been actively engaged as a dedicated member of Beta Alpha Psi and served an officer position as treasurer. She has also been passionate about sharing her insights and offering guidance to fellow students whether it be help in accounting courses or preparing for recruiting. Through her academics and involvement, she landed four offers and had the opportunity to do an internship with Ernst & Young in their tax practice.

Looking ahead, Hussain is excited to start the next chapter of her career as a full-time Tax Associate at Ernst & Young upon graduating with her MSACCY in the Fall of 2023. She also plans to gain her Certified Public Accounting license to enhance her skills as an accounting professional. With the valuable skills she has acquired through her education and experiences, she looks forward to giving back to the community and honoring her roots at Bauer.

DASIA MOORE
Outstanding MS in Entrepreneurship Student

Dasia Moore, a Texas City native, earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Management with Magna Cum Laude honors from the University of Houston in May 2022.

She embarked on her entrepreneurial journey at the age of nine, launching Dasia’s Lemonade Stand through National Lemonade Day. Dasia’s Lemonade Stand was active from the age of nine to 17. From the business principles she gained from Lemonade Day, she launched her current business, The Dream Hustle.

The Dream Hustle specializes in custom T-shirts, phone cases, keychains and more. She made the decision to seek a degree that would advance her knowledge and abilities as a business owner after earning her bachelor's degree. She pursued her Master of Science in Entrepreneurship to acquire the abilities and know-how necessary to support her small business and entrepreneurial endeavors.

With her current business, she aspires to utilize her wealth of knowledge to assist and inspire other individuals with creating their own dream hustles. Post graduate school, Moore plans to apply the skills she gained during her graduate program to expand and flourish in her entrepreneurial endeavors.

HANI AL NABER
Outstanding MS in Business Analytics Student

Hani Al Naber was born in Jordan where he completed an undergraduate degree in nuclear engineering, and shortly after worked in the UAE as a sales engineer while taking online courses.

When taking these courses, an interest and passion was sparked, causing him to apply to Bauer’s program to continue his growth.

ISMAEL EL ARKAWI
Outstanding MS in Finance Student

Ismael El Arkawi is a Lebanese-born citizen with 16 years of experience in operations, commercial and finance, within the energy sector.

He is currently serving as Director of Finance at Liberty Energy, bringing with him the knowledge he has gained from his tenure.

El Arkawi has held leadership roles worldwide, progressing from the fields of accounting to corporate finance, business development, and financial planning and analysis, all within the dynamic landscape of the energy sector.

DANIELLE ALBERT
Outstanding MS in Global Energy Leadership Student

Danielle Albert completed her undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University in 2017, where she received degrees in Energy Commerce and Finance. She has been working for Energy Transfer for five years.

In 2018, she started in the Crude Trucking department as a third-party reconciliation analyst. In 2019, she transitioned into a Ticketing Analyst role in that same department. For the past two years, she has been an Offshore Specialist in Energy Transfer’s Pipeline Marketing and Commercial department.

Albert, who is a proud Houston native, is extremely grateful for all the instruction and industry knowledge shared with her throughout her time at the University of Houston. She is looking forward to leveraging her graduate experience for advancement opportunities.  

BRANDON NASTOUPIL
Outstanding MS in Management & Leadership Student

Brandon Nastoupil is from Edna, TX, and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea and the 1st Cavalry Division in Ft. Hood with multiple deployments in support of the Global War on Terrorism.

After his time in the Army, Nastoupil became a first-generation college student and completed his B.S. in Management. Most of his professional career has been spent in the software industry, focusing on middle-market private equity-backed businesses to drive value creation for customers and shareholders. He has worked on over 50 M&A transactions, leading deal teams from sourcing through post-merger integration, and is now the SVP of Operations & Transformation at Panopto.

Always searching for continuous knowledge, Nastoupil returned to college to earn his MS in Management & Leadership to fuel his future professional goals.

TIANHAO SHAO
Outstanding MS in Management Information Systems Student

Tianhao Shao received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems, Magna Cum Laude in May 2022, where his passion was ignited for MIS. After graduation he immediately pursued his MS in Management Information Systems to deepen his expertise in the field.

Under the mentorship of Information & Logistics Technology Assistant Professor Peggy Lindner, Shao was able to contribute to several significant projects, including the Syrios Project for the UH Department of History, the Sharing Stories 1977 Project for the Honors College and the HNET Project for the College of Natural Sciences & Mathematics.

HASSAN SALEEM
Outstanding MS in Marketing Student


Hassan Saleem has a background in engineering, receiving a degree from the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology.

Throughout his professional career, Saleem has worked as an intern for BASF, and a Fellow for Teach for Pakistan. His most recent position was with BASF as a manager of technical services.

ANDREW ROBINSON
Outstanding MS in Sales Leadership Student

Andrew Robinson boasts over two decades of experience in sales and sales leadership, with a distinct specialization in navigating complex sales scenarios within the electronics industry. His unwavering belief in the pivotal role of sales for any business striving for strategic growth initiatives is evident throughout his career. As a seasoned professional, Robinson places significant emphasis on the importance of effective sales leadership.

Throughout a successful 20-year career, Robinson has honed his expertise, contributing significantly to Winchester Interconnect for the past six years as the Director of U.S. Sales. In this capacity, he spearheaded the company's growth by focusing on key end markets, including Aerospace and Defense, Medical Devices, and Semiconductor Capital Equipment.

Recognized for his contributions, he recently was promoted to the role of Senior Director of Business Development. In this elevated position, he shoulders the responsibility of driving the growth of Winchester's Space business. His strategic vision, coupled with his wealth of experience, positions him as a dynamic leader committed to propelling organizations toward new heights of success in the ever-evolving landscape of the electronics industry.

KAUSHAL KOTHARI
Outstanding MS in Supply Chain Management Student

Kaushal Kothari found his passion for supply chain management during his undergrad University of Houston. Since then, he has honed his skills through various supply chain roles at companies like Apple, Technip FMC, & Halliburton.

During the COVID crisis, he decided to further his studies in supply chain management to equip him with the right tools and knowledge to grow in his professional career.

As he finished his studies, he is learning new managerial skills at Express Kitchens as a general manager, facing the daily fight of continuous improvement, process optimization, and developing his team.

EDWARD CARRIZALES
Outstanding Master of Business Administration Student

Edward Carrizales is a multifaceted professional with a rich background in Banking, Technology Infrastructure, Data Analytics, Business Development, and Non-Profit Organizations. His approach is centered around utilizing technology and innovation to meet customer needs effectively. Appointed by Governor Abbott, he served on the University of Houston System's Board of Regents, contributing to its growth. His educational journey, marked by scholarships, has given him appreciation for the transformative power of education.

In 2012, he was named the Latino of the Year by the Association of Latinos Professional for America and is the youngest recipient of the University of Houston Alumni Association's Billie Schneider Outstanding Volunteer Award. His community service commitment is deeply rooted in his experiences as a first-generation graduate who faced financial hurdles.

In 2022, he was distinguished with the Texas Business Hall of Fame T.T. and W.F. Chao Chairman's Award, recognizing his exceptional contributions and leadership. Carrizales has also been instrumental in raising over $75,000 for scholarships. He led the Hispanic Alumni Association as President from 2018 to 2021 and now serves as an advisor.

Currently, Carrizales is a Board Member of the UH Alumni Association Foundation. Professionally, he holds the position of Assistant Vice President for the Enterprise Initiatives group at Zions Bancorporation.
