Accelerated Improvement

Bauer Undergraduate Program Ranked by U.S. News & World Report

The undergraduate program at the C. T. Bauer College of Business, University of Houston, continues its upward climb in national business school rankings released by U.S. News & World Report.

In the 2025 Best Colleges ranking, Bauer College jumped two spots to #41 among 362 public business schools this year. In the overall ranking of both public and private schools, Bauer improved by five positions, to #65. The scores are based on peer assessment, with deans and senior faculty members from each AACSB accredited school rating the quality of all the schools they were familiar with.

“It is gratifying to see that the quality of Bauer’s undergraduate program is being increasingly recognized in the steady improvement in its rankings,” said Praveen Kumar, Bauer College Interim Dean and Cullen Distinguished Chaired Professor of Finance. “It is notable that this improvement has accelerated recently as Bauer’s ranking has risen sharply in the past few years. This is really a testament to the excellence of our students, faculty, and staff.”

Bauer’s entrepreneurship program has also continued to advance in the U.S. News & World Report ranking of specialty programs. The Cyvia and Melvyn Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship, ranked No. 1 for five years in a row in The Princeton Review/Entrepreneur magazine’s annual ranking, is now ranked #6 among publics and #9 in the overall ranking of 39 public and private school entrepreneurship programs by U.S. News.

The annual survey analyzes more than 367 public business schools for its undergraduate business school ranking.
