A New Beginning
Bauer Celebrates Newest Graduating Class at Fall Commencement
Students from the C. T. Bauer College of Business celebrated the completion of their higher education journey during the Fall 2024 commencement ceremony.
A total of 981 students graduated from Bauer College, including 802 bachelor's candidates, 176 master’s candidates and three doctoral candidates.
Interim Dean, Cullen Distinguished University Chair and Professor of Finance Praveen Kumar began the ceremony by welcoming students, parents, supporters, faculty and staff to the Fertitta Center. UH System Chancellor and UH President Renu Khator spoke to the audience, offering congratulations to each student. UHS Student Regent Tomas Bryan, who is studying finance at Bauer College, also spoke.
Kumar then returned to the stage to help Khator award the Wayne Duddlesten Foundation with the 2024 President’s Medallion. The medallion is awarded at the President's discretion and acknowledges individuals and organization who have supported the University of Houston. Established to honor the legacy of real estate developer and philanthropist Wayne Duddlesten, the Duddlesten Foundation has supported UH since 1982. The support includes a generous $5 million gift that established The Wayne B. Duddlesten Free Enterprise Institute to expand entrepreneurship training and resources for all students at UH.
