Bauer Mini-MBA Teaches Management Best Practices in 5 Days

Professionals looking to advance into leadership positions can now do so effectively and affordably. The C. T. Bauer College of Business is currently enrolling for its February Mini-MBA session, specifically tailored to emphasize Management & Leadership skills.

The popular Office of Executive Development offering spans five days, provides participants with a refresh of business fundamentals and dives in deeper with specialized management courses. The upcoming session will include “Executive Communications,” “Managing Human Resources,” “Leading High Performance Teams” and more.

“The Mini-MBA accelerates business acumen without the time or financial commitment of a traditional MBA program,” Associate Dean for Executive Development Cheryl Baldwin said. “Participants leave with a holistic understanding of how strategy, finance, marketing, operations and leadership intersect, equipping them to think like business leaders rather than functional contributors.”

All courses will be taught by experienced Bauer College faculty, including Management & Leadership Department Chair Steve Werner. Werner said the program condenses what professionals need to know when transitioning into leadership roles in a way that’s precise and easy to understand.

“We will teach what a leader should know about human resources, how it fits into the big picture and the legal aspects that are important,” Werner said. “We go over what rights you have and  the laws that apply to HR decisions.”

After completing their Mini-MBA, Werner said participants will leave with a greater sense of confidence and decision-making ability. The offerings can assist employees in moving up their organizational chart, Baldwin added.

“Sometimes leadership is very intuitive and sometimes it's not,” Werner said. “This program can help reinforce what they thought they knew but also give them new ideas to help think about these things.”

“The Mini MBA is designed to equip high-potential professionals with a comprehensive understanding of core business disciplines in a condensed, executive-focused format,” Baldwin said. “It provides participants with practical tools, cross-functional insight and strategic decision-making skills that can be immediately applied to drive performance and organizational impact.”

Professionals can invest in their future and enroll in the Feb. 23-27 Mini-MBA session now.
